HUMANITARIAN PROGRAM

The humanitarian committee 2015 - Report

On behalf of the Osun Indigenes organization leadership, I want to than all members fort heir individual contribution beyond their normal membership fee. It was such a great year and I am grateful for the privilege of coordinating the humanitarian efforts. Last year, we were able to support the African women cancer awareness organization through their mission in educating women to break through the barrier of silence, advocating self breast exams and support for Africans with newly diagnosed breast cancer.

We went beyond our usual 10 baskets of donations last year and donated additional 10 turkeys to a more deserving needy families within our communities.

They are grateful and attached is the letter of appreciation from the So Others May Eat Organization

I pray that you will continue to have the spirit of giving, that you will not get tired and God shall continue to enrich your pockets beyond your imaginations. I look forward to a fruitful 2016.

Letter from SOME

Dear Dr. Ogunrinde, Totalhealth Kids & The Osun Indigenes Organization;

SOME would like to thank you for another year of generosity and support. Thank you very much for your cumulative donation of 15 holiday food baskets and 15 Thanksgiving turkeys. There is certainly a great need for the many people who come to SOME for help and your items helped make the holiday a lot brighter for 15 low-income families. Beginning as a soup kitchen in 1970, SOME has grown to encompass a wide variety of programs and services, including Single Room Occupancy (SRO) housing, transitional housing, job training, addictions recovery treatment, health care, mental health care, elderly care, and an after-school program. We appreciate your efforts and consistency in donating to us. The items you donated this winter season have helped support initiatives within these programs and aide in our mission of assisting the homeless and destitute population of the Washington, D.C. metro area.

Sincerely,

Stephanie Shallah
